Are you tired of searching the software to record the desktop video? If that is the case then i have brought a trick to record the desktop using the VLC media player that will help you to create tutorials. It is so simple to use and you will also feel great once you try it. Here are the steps for recording:

  • First of all open VLC media player.
  • Go to view menu and click on advanced controls to enable record buttons.
  • Go to media menu and click open capture device or press ctrl+C.
  • Click on capture device and go to capture mode and select desktop.
  • You can adjust the frame rate there. For normal select 5-10 f/s and for HD video select >20  f/s frame rate.
  • Now click on play .
  • Then click the record button to record. Minimize VLC and do your jobs that need to be recorded.
  • After you finish, hit the record button again to stop recording.
  • Close VLC media player.
  • Open the documents folder or the videos folder to get your recorded video.
P.S. The size of video is extremely large, so that you need to convert it using any video converter or you can also use VLC as converter.
